In order to setup email on your Vodafone mobile, you have to first set up internet on your Vodafone mobile device. Once the internet is set up, follow the steps below to create an email account on your Vodafone mobile.
On your Vodafone mobile, press the menu button and click on “Email” icon. Once your email application is opened, create a new email account by clicking on “Other” option and then tap “Next”.
If an email account is already created, then follow the instructions below:
On your Vodafone mobile, click on “Menu” icon.
Go to “Settings” option.
In the “Settings” menu, you will see “ADD ACCOUNT” option, click on it.
Click on “Email Address” and enter your email address. After that click on “Password” and type in the password of your email account. At last click on “Next”.
You will get an onscreen message that your email account has been successfully set up. Now you have to follow the below steps to finish your email setup.
Now you have to select your server type by clicking on POP3 and enter the username of your email account.
Below the “Server” option, enter the name or IP address of your email provider’s incoming server.
Click on “Port” option where you will have to enter the incoming port. Type the Port number as 110.
Now you will have to disable the encryption of your incoming email messages. To do this, follow the steps below:
Click on drop down list below the “Security type” option.
Click on “None” option.
In this steps, you can either turn the deletion of email messages on the server “on” or “off”. To do this select the drop down list under “Delete email from server” option. Click on “Never” or “When I delete from inbox” and tap “Next”.
Enter the name or IP address in outgoing server. The IP address should be of your email provider. In outgoing port section, enter the port number as 25.
Now in order to turn off the encryption of your outgoing email messages, you have to select “None” option in “Security type” drop down list menu.
To enable SMTP authentication, follow the steps below:
You have to click on “Require sign in” option until you get the message that the function is turned “ON”.
Under “Username” option, type in your username for your email provider’s outgoing server.
Enter the password under “password” option for your email provider’s outgoing server and click on “Next”.
You have to now select the setting for retrieval of your new email messages. Select “Never” or “the required period” under the “Inbox checking frequency” tab.
Set up your email notifications “ON” or “OFF” by selecting “Notify me when emails arrive”.
To enable or disable the email message synchronization, click the option “Sync emails from this account” and click on “Next’ option.
Enter your email account username and enter the sender’s name by clicking on “Your name (displayed on outgoing messages)” option.
After all the steps, click on “Next” option to finish the setup. You have to wait until your phone retrieves new email messages. Now go back to home screen by clicking on “home” button.
