To check for poor signal quality on your Sky Tv box, follow the steps mentioned below:
- Press “Services” button your Sky remote.
- Press buttons “4” and “6” in quick succession.
- “Signal Test Menu” will be displayed on the screen.
- The quality should be at least 50% during dry weather and around 40% during heavy rain or extreme weather.
The Signal Lock Indicator should indicate ‘Locked’ and the ‘Network ID’ should read ‘0002’.
An incorrect Network ID indicates that your Sky dish is aligned on the wrong satellite.
The signal strength readings vary according to the type of LNB fitted to the dish and the length of coaxial cable feeder used.
The longer the cable runs, the lower the signal strength reading will be on the Sky signal test screen.
Normally the signal strength readings should be either 60% or more. If the readings are lower than this means that your Sky dish needs realignment.
If the poor signal quality problem still persists, call Sky customer service contact number. The Sky support representative will assist you in the best possible way.
